Graphic Design

I kind of got lost a little bit in creating Monthly Deviantart web interface features, but at least I loved to do research and get inspired every month, and since our blog is focused mainly on web design, I am sure you enjoy it as well. Let’s get started, get inspired and watch how trends are slowly changing from month to month.

More and more visually appealing and image heavy websites are being created, and of course we’ve got a reason – days with slow Internet speed are going to past and technologies are evolving every day! Let’s get started – shall we?

Oh, this is a bit different collection I hope, because I couldn’t find really similar articles like this one. I did very big research through youtube, delicious, good-tutorials, vimeo, google and many more websites to find interesting Photoshop, little coding and tips video tutorials. What’s great with video tutorials? – you can see every mouse click and in the same time you hear author’s voice explaining things to you verbaly. In my opinion this is the fastest and the best way how to learn new techniques.

Actually I got this article idea, when I accidentaly found great video tutorial on Deviantart which by the way is the first video in this list as well. It is Photoshop tutorial, where author explains several of his great techniques while creating designs – what font to choose, how to think about spacing, wirefrime, colors, blending options and a lot more hidden tips.

1. Website design walkthrough from Derek Toigo

This video will walk you through Derek Toigo design process of a simple website template. He will explain and unreveal many hidden tips and techniques in his daily designing process.

Hu2 is a London-based company comprised of four crazy dudes (and one dudette!). They have some simply awesome ideas when it comes to creative uses of vinyl. Flicking through their online catalogue, I’m reminded of some of Banksy’s pieces, which I really dig!

Vinyl wall decals are often overlooked but they’re a really simple and creative solution to playing up a boring wall. Why not try trading in the paint and wallpaper and get your hand on some of these fun decals. They can be used on any smooth flat surface and are completely removable, leaving no mark or residue behind. Take a look at the collection we gathered for you here today and get inspired to do something fun with your walls!

In this post I will present you a showcase of 60 creative movie posters. I came across many sites and found very useful information and gathered all here. So, almost everything has a different colors, style, genre and graphical approach. Basically a film poster is a poster used to advertise a film. There may be several versions for one film, with variations in regards to size, content and country of production of the poster. It usually contains an image with text, though this has evolved over time from image-free bill posters through to the highly visual digital productions of today.

Nowadays there are many posters, but most of them do not attract people. So clearly, the poster design is one of the most important things in advertising films, but nothing outweighs their ingenuity and creativity that attracts many people.

How designers get influenced by music is an informative article about the combination of music and design. Eleven designers talk about their experiences and views on music among them like Alex Beltechi, Pete Harrison and Rik Ooestenbroek. It is totally worth to check out.

This time I also have some different views on the same topic. I’d love to discuss everything with you guys more, so just leave a comment. My question is:

“How does music inspire you and what music do you listen to, while designing?”

I love music second to I love art, sometimes even more, in my opinion music is the most amazing thing people can give to this world, it’s magical, inspirational, sentimental, healing…it’s everything.I always dreamed of being a musician, or a singer performing on the stage, I think it’s the most precious and desirable gift people can have, since I’m not good enough to do that, I transform my feelings while hearing the music to my artworks, hence it become a very special and inspiring process for me.Music can be art , and art can be music.

My favorite genre is rock, new wave, post punk, shoegaze, dreampop, downtempo…there are too many, my top musicians are The Cure ,The Flaming lips, Robin Guthrie…I’m also a chill-out radio fan, love listening to belowzero and anji bee’s chillcast.

“Music is an integral, interwoven, intangible yet indispensable part of my creative process. I tend to save listening to my favourite albums for times where I need to produce my best creative work – I will often watch movies when drumming out less inspired work, but find that my imagination really fires up when the tunes kick in. I have no set genre or band that I listen to when I create – I just listen to whatever album it is that I have on rotation and see where it takes me. Lately I’ve been listening to The XX, Led Zeppelin and Bloc Party – it’s made for some really wonderful creative sessions.”
